High Plains CD will work with local fire prevention specialists, Bureau of Land Management, and contractors to offer landowners financial, administrative, and technical assistance for wildfire mitigation projects on their property.
Program Quick Facts
Cost share! That means 75% of costs per treated acre is reimbursed to landowner. 25% of the cost covered by landowner is considered match
It does not cost the landowner to apply and have a fire prevention specialist visit the property and give expert advice.
Landowners have 1 year to complete the project. This can be extended if weather does not permit for completion by original contracted date.
Payment is received at the time of completion.
